The remaining heritage Cheltenham Station building on platform one will be dismantled and safely relocated into storage, and the rest of the station demolished by this weekend. In eight weeks’ time, we will have dug the rail trenches, lowered the rail line under Park, Charman and Balcombe roads and built two new stations. That’s a lot of work to power through, and we are working around the clock to get everything done.
Trains will be back up and running on Monday 27 July. The new Mentone Station will open on Monday 3 August, with the new Cheltenham Station opening onMonday 17 August.
Finishing touches on the stations, car parking, landscaping and works on the new walking and cycling path will continue until the end of the year.

Buses also replace trains on other sections of the Frankston line throughout this time due to other project works.
Once the line reopens on Monday 27 July, a shuttle bus service will operate between Southland and Parkdale stations from Monday 27 July to Sunday 2 August and then between Southland and Mentone stations until Sunday 16 August to connect passengers to train services.

Park and Charman roads in Cheltenham and Balcombe Road in Mentone are now closed while we work to build the new roads over the rail trench.
